Something for the weekend Sir...?

Anchovy and egg

Toast some sourdough.

Mash butter with anchovy fillet, spread on toast and top with a soft poached egg.

Season with pepper.



Goat’s cheese, beetroot and orange

Toast some sourdough.

Top with thin slices of goat’s cheese, slivers of cooked beetroot, halved peeled orange segments and torn fresh mint.


Figs, goat’s cheese and walnuts

Toast some sourdough.

Top with goat’s cheese, sliced figs and chopped walnuts.

Drizzle with honey and grill briefly.


Nutella and pear

Toast some brioche.

Spread with Nutella and top with sliced fresh or tinned pear.


Torta di Dolcelatte, apple and sage

Toast some brioche.

Spread with torta di dolcelatte (dolcelatte layered with mascarpone) and top with sliced apple and sage.


Mascarpone and strawberries

Toast some brioche.

Spread with mascarpone and top with sliced strawberries.

Drizzle with honey.



And listen...do yourself a favour...don't use margarine,no matter how high your cholesterol...

I like to use butter with sea salt crystals in it....like this...

  2. Hello...jah...sometimes I go off reservation and just post something I enjoy...I saw this ideas in the Times last saturday and have been trying them out this week...
